Chris Priest chosen as Labour’s candidate for the Tudor Ward By-election 16th October 2014

There will be a by-election on Thursday 16th October 2014 in Tudor Ward following the resignation of a Tory councillor on health grounds.

Chris Priest has been chosen as the Labour candidate for the Tudor ward by-election.

Chris has lived in the borough for over 30 years, and represented the neighbouring Canbury ward on Kingston Council between 1998 and 2002.

“I will be fighting this election to give voters in Tudor ward a real choice. The Lib Dems are compromised by their continuing support for the current Conservative-led coalition government.

“A government which is threatening the NHS with its unwanted ‘reforms’, which has handed out a tax cut to millionaires while the cost of living soars for everyone else, and which tripled student tuition fees.

“The coalition parties have had things to themselves too long in Kingston. I want to use my experience to be an effective voice for local people from the day after the poll – including those this council ignores.”
